I love the lottery and my boyfriend at the time knew it. On my birthday I was greeted with a " Cash Crop " scratch ticket taped to the door with message "Scratch me then follow the arrows" This led me to five more arrows with five more messages, the last leading me to my final 6 scratch tickets forming a box. The message said " Close your eyes...count to ten, then open them " When I opened my eyes my boyfriend was wearing a shirt saying " I HIT THE LOTTERY WHEN I MET YOU, WILL YOU MARRY ME ? " Inside the box was my engagement ring. After a 3 year engagement we we married. We will be celebrating our 11th anniversary this July. Thank You Idaho Lottery...I was lucky that day! |

My most memorable lottery memory involves the Scratch for Schools program. I have been participating for the last 4 years, but the most memorable incident occured in the first year. We were ready to scratch, the call to start rang out. I started scratching for all I was worth and ended up jabbing my finger with the scratcher. The next thing I know I was bleeding all over the tickets. But that didn't stop me. I just kept scratching (and bleeding!) It was worth it, because we ended up getting about $1100.00 for our school. I got my picture taken with the check and the bandaid. |

"This is Joe." "Joe, Dana." Friend (co-worker) of my wife's. "Would you believe, Karen just won $25,000.00?" "No. If true, Karen would tell me." "I looked to see if she made a mistake." "Did she?" "Did she what? "Make a mistake?" "No! It's an Idaho Bingo. She filled the state outline. It's a winner." "I still have doubts. Lot of money. Why didn't Karen call me?" "I'm not kidding. She's afraid of a mistake or won't get paid due to some technicality. She's nauseous. Breaking out in hives. I'm telling the good news because it's making her sick." "Karen there?" "She is." "I'll believe it if she tells me." "It's true, Joe." Karen sounded ill. "It's a winner." I believed. That's how the Idaho Lottery made Karen sick to her stomach and gave her hives. We cashed-in and over $9,000.00 was withheld. Too much. We filed our tax-return. Got most of that back. Like winning, again. |

My brother and I took our first trip to Jackpot together 2 years ago. Before I picked him up, I bought a $7 Treasure Chest scratch ticket and saved it until we were leaving Jackpot. It was $100 winner!! I was so excited because I had never won anything like that before. My brother wanted to see the ticket and then rolled down his window and acted like he was going to throw it out. The ticket ripped in half and landed near the gorge in Twin Falls. Traveling 60mph we had gone far before I could get stopped. We both jumped out and ran to look for it. I was screaming due to fear, anger, etc until I finally found it. I was then screaming and jumping for joy all the way back to my vehicle! |

I was working in logan canyon (flagging)had been for 3 months. while the traffic was stopped due to construction I would pick up garbage along the road. This one day I found a one hundred dollar bill folded and laying on the side of the mountain by the road. I was so excited after work I flew to Gladys in Fish Haven and bought power balls, scratch tickets, you name it. Spent the hundred dollars and won $500.00 on a wild card quick pick. It pays to keep america clean. |

On my 18th birthday i had bought over 100 dollars worth of tickets with only 3 winners. I was starting to get discouraged when i won on a triple 7's card, if i remember right the amount was 77 dollars, it wasn't much but it was the most i had ever won. I took the ticket home; i set it down on a small table in our den. Later that evening my mom pulled into the driveway, i excitedly ran to the table to retrieve the ticket. What i hadn't mentioned was that my sister's hamster had its home on that very same table. I couldn't find the ticket anywhere, horrified; i noticed the small white metal door was opened. I flicked on the light and saw little blue and white pieces all over the cage. My sister's hamster "Ginger" pocked the latch somehow and ate my winning ticket. |

My grandfather turned 90 last year and he loves scratch tickets. I went to the store and bought 90 $1.00 tickets. I blew up 5 balloons and then taped the 90 lottery tickets to the balloons and made a bouquet of lottery tickets. Everyone that walked in the door oohed and ahhed at the bouquet of lottery tickets and my grandfather absolutely loved it. He wound up winning over $100 on the 90 scratch tickets I bought him. It was a great 90th birthday. |

It was Christmas 1995 and my Husband and I were living in Gooding Idaho. We had two small children at home and were struggling to make ends meet. I stopped at the local Ridley's store and purchased a $1.00 scratch off along with a few groceries. I remembered the ticket while driving home and decided to scratch while driving..(probably not the smartest thing to do) I could not believe my eyes when I realized that I had scratched a $250.00 winner, I was so excited that I pulled over to the side of the road and got out jumping up and down screaming! My kids thought that I had lost my mind! That money sure came in handy for us and helped us buy a few gifts for my kids Christmas. Thank you Idaho Lottery!! Kim Haines Caldwell, Idaho. |

I was checking my numbers on the Wild Card before I left for work, I had just realized that I had 4 numbers and the wild card when the house started shaking. My elderly mother lives with me and I thought she had fallen, so I ran back to check on her, she was fine, then it came over the TV that there had just been an Earthquake. Winning sometimes can really make the earth move. |

I always play my special numbers for the Wild Card. When the jackpot was exceptionally high, I asked my husband to pick some numbers. On Sunday morning, I checked our tickets, no winners on my usual numbers. Then I checked his numbers that he gave me, He picked one, two, three, four numbers, plus the wild card. I checked the prize and it was $500.00. I ran outside to let him know. He was using the Weedeater to clean Swell and I heard "ping". A rock had been thrown up and hit the back window of the truck Lear shell, shattering it. He looked at the truck, and it was the perfect time to say, "Don't worry, you hit $500.00 on the Wild Card ". We chuckled, went to Safeway to cash it in, and had an enjoyable afternoon, plus a new Lear truck shell window! |

My husband and I find it very relaxing to play scratch tickets. One day he was giving me a bad time for buying a $10.00 ticket. To my surprise I won $50.00 and was rubbing that fact in his face while I was taking it to the counter to cash it. He stood next to me while I cashed the ticket in with me still giving him a bad time when the clerk told me I had actually won $500.00. As a reaction I threw my hands up in the air with clenched fists in victory turned and punched my husband in the face. Of Course it was by complete accident and I was in my own little world and he got in the way of my jumping up and down. But he will never let me forget it and I will never let him forget about it either. |
