$1,000,000 Raffle is 75% Sold-Out
Boise – Players of the Idaho Lottery’s $1,000,000 Raffle better hurry if they want to get in on the game. The Idaho Lottery has sold 75% of the total number tickets available for the game that represents the best odds ever of winning $1,000,000.
“The pace at which players are purchasing their Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets has increased considerably in the last few days,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “We are still anticipating a sell-out to the game before the drawing on December 30th, maybe before Christmas.”
The $10 tickets went on sale on November 7, 2008 and have sold over 187,000 tickets. With a complete sell-out of this year’s game, the Lottery anticipates the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle will create approximately $700,000 for Idaho public schools and buildings.
“With the last weekend before Christmas, we have heard many people are buying raffle tickets to give as stocking stuffers,” added Anderson. “It only takes one million dollars to be a millionaire and this game will create the Lottery’s 21st millionaire since we began operations in 1989.”
As an Idaho-only game, Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets are only available for sale through all 880 Idaho Lottery retail locations. This game is not sold in any other state, however, players do not need to be Idaho residents to play or win. The odds of winning $1,000,000 remains the same at one in 250,000, the best ever offered by the Idaho Lottery for a seven-figure prize.
This year’s winning numbers announcement will take place at 9:59 PM Mountain Time on December 30, 2008. Lottery officials continue to remind players to play the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle responsibly. Anderson also encouraged players to sign the back of their ticket once it has been purchased and to keep it in a safe place until the Lottery announces the winning numbers on December 30, 2008.
