Idaho Lottery Launches New Idaho-only Daily Draw Game

 

Boise – People believe in second chances and now the Idaho Lottery is introducing a game with the second chance feature built right in.  Today, tickets went on sale for the Idaho Lottery’s newest game, Double Play Daily^TM, an Idaho-only $2 draw game where players get two chances to win two jackpots of $20,000 or more – daily.

 

“Idaho players like Idaho-only, draw-style games that carry a large jackpot amount,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “The success we’ve had with our second chance drawings for our Scratch^TM tickets led us to create a similar experience daily with one of our draw games. We believe the time has come to give players two opportunities to win two large jackpots everyday.”

 

As a draw-style game, Double Play Daily^TM is a $2 game.  In the game, players can either have a quick pick, where the computer picks the numbers for them, or they can select the numbers themselves.  Players must select five out of the possible thirty-six numbers.  This single set of numbers is good for both of the daily draws which occur back-to-back within minutes of each other every night at 8:00 PM Mountain Time.

 

Both draws for Double Play Daily^TM occur seven days a week, starting with the first one tonight, May 3, 2009. There are two top prizes each day for Double Play Daily^TM.  For the lucky player who matches all five of the first set of numbers, Draw 1 always has a set jackpot amount of $20,000.  Draw 2 has a progressive jackpot that begins at $20,000 and grows continually until it is won.

 

To win, players must match at least 2 of their 5 numbers to the winning numbers in either Draw 1 or Draw 2.  It’s like a Lottery mulligan. Since two chances are always better than one, if a player did not win in Draw 1, they get a “Lottery do-over” with the same line of numbers for a second chance to win playing the progressive jackpot in Draw 2.

 

“This is a very unique game for our players with some of the best chances for a winning experience,” added Anderson. “One of the nicest features offered by Double Play Daily^TM is when a player matches just two numbers, they win.”

Double Play Daily^TM is the first regular draw-style game introduced by the Idaho Lottery since Hot Lotto debuted on October 1, 2007.  It is the first daily game introduced by the Idaho Lottery since the inception of Idaho Pick 3, the other Idaho-only daily game, in June 2000.
