Scratch for Schools

This year’s Scratch for Schools Registration is closed.

For additional information, please contact David Workman at dworkman@lottery.idaho.gov.

Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools is a fundraising event that is fun and could reap big benefits for your school! The Jim Bruce Scratch for Schools event is a chance to raise additional funds for your school’s needs – books, desks, audio/video equipment, playground materials and field trips. This is a great and easy opportunity to win money for your school.

Since Scratch for Schools began in 2001, the Idaho Lottery has given $1,664,435 additional dollars to Idaho Public Schools.

  1. Round up the three luckiest, most coordinated, most dexterous teachers, administrators, school faculty or parents at your school. Team members must be at least 18 years or older. Students may not participate.

  2. During the event, each team is given 200 lottery Scratch tickets. On “Scratch!” each team scratches as many tickets as they can in five minutes. Prize amounts uncovered by each team are donated to their school. Teams that scratch the most tickets receive more tickets to scratch. Everyone walks away a winner!
  3. For information about registering for an upcoming event in your area, please contact the David Workman at the Idaho Lottery: info@lottery.idaho.gov.
IMPORTANT: The Scratch for Schools program is being moved to the spring. The next event will take place in the spring of 2025.
