BOISEAN WINS COUNTRY’S ONLY $100,000 PRIZE FOR WEDNESDAY’S POWERBALL!
BOISE – A Boise man received a very special surprise: $100,000. Not tremendously familiar with Powerball, Rizah Dizdarevic held onto his winning Powerball ticket unsure about the winning numbers. It wasn’t until the next morning that he checked the newspaper for the winning number. He checked and rechecked and rechecked again, finding it hard to believe what he saw! Rizah matched all five winning numbers except the red Powerball number in the drawing on Wednesday, July 23, 2003!
Rizah was very excited when he came into the Lottery offices to claim the $100,000 prize. Rizah was not only the sole $100,000 winner in Idaho for this drawing, but he also held the only $100,000 winning ticket in the country!
Rizah and his family plan to pay bills with some of the money and save the rest.
The Powerball jackpot is currently estimated at $25 million. The next draw is Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at 8:59 p.m.
