Dream Comes True for Lottery´s Speedway Vacation Package Winner
(Boise, ID) The crowd might just go a little wilder at the Indianapolis Nascar racetrack. Self-proclaimed Nascar motorhead Mike McCasland of Pocatello will be there – and he will be wild for sure. Mike’s son Jeremy won a speedway vacation package from the Idaho Lottery on the $2 ticket Raceway Riches. For Mike, who has terminal cancer, going to see a race is a dream come true, and with his bills it wouldn’t have been possible without the Lottery and his son Jeremy.
Jeremy bought Raceway Riches tickets weekly for his father, only hoping to win a prize package. Instead, he scratched off the ticket that won him the first speedway vacation to be claimed so far!
Mike’s health is waning, and he hopes to take his trip soon. The prize includes the option to choose which speedway to attend, and Mike hopes to go to Indianapolis. “The Indy track is like Mecca to me. It’s the biggest thing out there,” he says.
Mike had plans to take his wife Debra on the trip, because she is his caregiver and must administer his medications. When MDI, the company through which the Lottery purchases prizes including this trip, found out, they graciously offered to extend the prize to include Jeremy as well – for free! Now the whole family will get to watch dad’s dream come true.
There are 12 trips remaining to be won instantly on the scratch tickets. Each premier Speedway Vacation Package includes a four day, three night trip for two to any official race for 2003 or 2004 season, round-trip airfare, a first class hotel room, reserved seating, a VIP upgrade package and $500 spending money.
