IDAHO LOTTERY BECOMES A SPONSOR OF CAPITOL RACING THIS SEASON AT LES BOIS PARK

Boise The Idaho Lottery announced their sponsorship role with Capitol Racing for the 2008 racing season which includes providing and presenting the traditional blanket to the winning horse in this weekend´s Memorial Day Speed Handicap Race on Monday, May 26, 2008. The Lottery will also provide the blanket to the winner of another stakes race to be conducted later in the 2008 race season.

“Working collaboratively is a natural fit for the Idaho Lottery and Capitol Racing,” stated Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “This unique partnership allows us to reach thousands of fans that enjoy the rich history and tradition of horse racing.”

The sponsorship agreement between the Lottery and Capitol Racing provides both parties with unique advertising opportunities. The Lottery receives advertising at the track while Capitol Racing receives promotional advertising on Powerball tickets printed in the Treasure Valley.

“The Idaho Lottery’s involvement reinforces the importance of the sport of horse racing to the State of Idaho,” said Capitol Racing´s General Manager, Alan Horowitz. “We are looking forward to working with the Lottery as we continue to bring the thrill and excitement of horse racing to so many Idahoans.”

The Memorial Day Speed Handicap Race is a 4 ½ furlong race for 3year old Thoroughbreds. Lottery officials will be in the Winner´s Circle immediately following the race for the presentation of the blanket to the winning horse.
