IDAHO LOTTERY PLAYER CLAIMS $30,000 SLINGO TOP PRIZE!
BOISE – Lynn Welch always plays $3 Lottery tickets. “That way, if you lose, you still get to play a lot,” she says. Not only did she get to play a lot, she also won a lot! $30,000 to be exact. Lynn and her husband Bob came to the Lottery office to claim the top prize on the $3 scratch game Red Hot Slingo.
Lynn played the ticket in bed over the weekend and had a good feeling as she started scratching, she says. When she won, she examined the ticket over and over until she realized it was in fact a winner. At first Bob thought she was kidding, but he soon realized it was no joke when Lynn started jumping around.
The winning ticket couldn’t have come at a better time, Bob says. The couple had an old car that was causing problems and they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to buy a new car. In fact, they didn’t even wait to purchase the new automobile – they bought it over the weekend, before they even cashed in the ticket.
The ticket was purchased at Soda Springs Chevron in Soda Springs.
Players must be at least 18 to buy, sell or redeem Powerball tickets. Remember to play responsibly. The Idaho Lottery benefiting Idaho public schools and buildings.
