 Malad $200,000 Winning Powerball Ticket Set to Expire

 Boise; An Idaho Lottery Powerball ticket that was sold in Malad for the January 26, 2008 draw has yet to be claimed and is set to expire on July 23, 2008; With all Lottery games, once a draw occurs players have 180 days to claim their prizes.

The Idaho Lottery is encouraging any player who was in the Malad area in Oneida County along the IdahoUtah border in late January to check their tickets carefully.nbsp; Malad is adjacent to Interstate 15 that connects the large population centers of Utah with eastern Idaho.

The winning numbers for that night were 11, 35, 39, 53, 54, and the Powerball was 24. The winning ticket matched all five of the first numbers but not the Powerball itself.

We have had large, sixfigure prizes go unclaimed in the past because people do not carefully check their numbers, announced Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director “While this ticket did not match the Powerball, it did match every other number and is worth $200,000.”Almost three years ago, a $200,000 winning ticket from Fish Haven went unclaimed.nbsp; In the spring of 2006, another $200,000 winning prize from an Albertsons in Caldwell also was unclaimed. Unclaimed winnings reduce the amount of money the Lottery pays out in the form of prizes and ultimately increases the annual dividend provided to Idaho’s public schools and buildings.

Since February 11, 2008, Malad’s retailers have claimed three of a record sixteen Match Powerball winners. All of Malad’s large Powerball winners have resided in the State of Utah.
