The Holidays are all about giving gifts. For one Utah woman, giving Idaho Lottery scratch tickets to friends and family for the holidays is a tradition. Even if her friends give her a bad time for doing so, she enjoys giving them as presents and stocking stuffers.

This year after buying, and giving, holiday scratch tickets for friends and family, Kristin Jones from the Salt Lake valley decided to treat herself to a single ticket. The ticket of choice was a $5 Sunny Money game, purchased at the Maverik in Malad. It was a good choice. The ticket won $50,000!

“I played it and thought it was $50,000, but then thought this couldn’t be real,” said Kristin on playing the ticket. “I called the Lottery Office, then, I checked it on my phone, and it all kept saying I needed to come back to Idaho to claim my winnings at the Lottery. This isn’t happening!”

It’s happening, Kristin. Good things come to those who give gifts, especially at the Holidays.

For now, Kristin plans to invest her winnings wisely. Before leaving the Lottery Office, Kristin was sure to snap a picture holding her winning check to send to her friends who gave her a bad time. “Maybe they won’t do that anymore?” she pondered with a smile as bright as the game she won.
