BOISE, Idaho – Being a newlywed and graduating cosmetology school are just a handful of blessings for Caldwell’s Sandralicia Martinez this year. Today, she’s finishing 2022 on a high note as she won $80,000 from the Idaho Lottery after her Big Spin at Boise Towne Square.

Martinez rarely plays the Lottery, but not long after Thanksgiving she was at the Jacksons on Highway 20/26 in Caldwell and bought three Big Spin tickets. “After I bought my three, I noticed there was still one more. Like a Thanksgiving leftover, I couldn’t leave it, so I bought it, too. The last one turned out to be the big winner,” described Martinez on her winning ticket.

“I had seen the Big Spin wheel outside H&M, but I didn’t think this really happened. Now it’s happening to me!” she said excitedly.

Before a crowd of family, friends, and onlookers, Martinez gave the wheel a spin and won $80,000. She hopes to use her winnings on a down payment for a home for her new family.

“Baby needs a new house for Christmas,” said Martinez who is six months pregnant with the couple’s first child. “This is wonderful! Thank you!”
