Cache Valley Man Wins $200,000 on Powerball

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Last week's $200,000 Powerball winner claimed his prize today in Boise. The winner was Nathan Anderson of Providence, Utah.

Every time Anderson visits Idaho, he stops at an Idaho Lottery retailer to make sure he gets a multi-draw Powerball ticket. Late last Wednesday night, Anderson checked his tickets on-line and discovered he'd matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball.

"With a big jackpot like that, I had to check them to see if I'd won," explained Anderson. "I couldn't believe it when I matched the numbers. I started telling my family over the next couple of days and no one believed me."

Anderson bought his winning ticket at La Tienda in Franklin, Idaho. This is the second big winning ticket for the Franklin store in the past six months. In December of 2010, the store sold a $1,000,000 Powerball with PowerPlay ticket to Brigham City's Cindy Flint, her mother Donna, and her sister Carol Olsen. For their part in selling this winning ticket, La Tienda will receive a bonus of $20,000.

Anderson, a long-time resident of the Cache Valley, said he plans to use his winnings wisely, perhaps even purchase property in the area.
