BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Winning $1 million for most people would be an exciting experience. Brian Reed of Sandpoint, though, was very calm when he found out he held the $1 million winning ticket from last Saturday night┬┤s Powerball draw.
ÔÇïEarlier in the day, he was returning from fishing on Lake Pend Oreille when he stopped in the Travel America Plaza in Sagle to buy a few Powerball tickets.
ÔÇï"I asked for a $5 quick pick, but actually had an extra dollar so I got three," said Reed. The middle pick ended up being the winner.
He found out he held the winning ticket that matched the first five numbers but not the Powerball on Saturday. "I didn┬┤t get too excited, I just said ┬┤Cool, I won┬┤," described Reed.ÔÇï
ÔÇïReed plans to invest his winnings in a few business ventures and be able to spend more time with his grandkids.
For their part in selling the winning ticket Travel America Plaza will receive a $20,000 bonus from the Idaho lottery. ÔÇï
ÔÇïReed is not available for comment.
