BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô With only 14 shopping days left in the holiday season, Idahoans hoping for a million dollar present from the Idaho Lottery may need to get their shopping done a little earlier than expected. During the day Saturday, the Idaho Lottery will officially cross the 75% mark of sales for their holiday Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle game meaning there will be less than 65,000 tickets remaining for a chance at the game's one million dollar top prize. The Lottery will not issue any additional tickets once all 250,000 are sold.
"Million dollar raffle tickets continue to be a popular holiday item this year," stated Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "At the current rate of sales, we are advising anyone who wants to purchase a raffle ticket to do so in the next week. We anticipate selling out the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle before Christmas and when the tickets are gone, they're gone."
Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets went on sale on Halloween, October 31, 2009. Only 250,000 tickets at $10 each were made available for purchase in Idaho. This year's Raffle features over 3,000 prizes, more than the two previous years' prizes combined. In addition to the top prize of $1,000,000, there are four $10,000 prizes, sixty $1,000 prizes, one thousand $100 prizes, and two thousand $50 prizes. The game offers Idahoans the best odds ever of winning a million dollars from the Idaho Lottery.
"Many people like to give Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets, as well as our holiday-themed scratch games, as presents and stocking stuffers," added Anderson. "But as the game draws toward the close of sales, we do want to emphasize that players need to sign their tickets and keep them in a safe place until the draw on December 30th."
This year's winning numbers announcement will take place at 9:59 p.m. Mountain Time on December 30, 2009. Lottery officials continue to remind players to play the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle responsibly.
