Idaho Lottery Issues Request for Information for Computer Gaming Systems

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô The Idaho Lottery announced it has officially issued a Request for Information (RFI) from responsible, responsive, and experienced gaming systems providers. The Idaho Lottery is seeking to identify potential vendors and to solicit information and demonstrations for a fully integrated computer gaming system and related services.

"As a responsible government agency, it is our obligation to gain an understanding of market conditions and new technical developments within the lottery industry, which will drive sales and responsibly increase dividends to Idaho Public Schools and the Permanent Building Fund," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "Our gaming system is the heart of our business. It is incumbent upon us to evaluate all levels of Lottery operations and to provide value and service for the citizens of Idaho and all our players."

Currently, the Idaho Lottery operates 1100 retail terminals, 323 full-service self-activated vending machines, 81 self-service machines for draw games only, and 494 electronic jackpot signs at retail locations across the Gem State. In the 26-year history of the Idaho Lottery, they have generated more than $2.8 billion in total sales and returned $694.5 million in dividends.

Interested vendors are being asked to present their proposed solutions for equipment and services to the Idaho Lottery Executive Director and members of the Idaho Lottery RFI Committee. All vendors interested should submit their company name and contact information to the Idaho Lottery RFI Coordinator Becky Schroeder by close of business October 7, 2015.

Copies of the complete RFI may be obtained by contacting the Idaho Lottery during business hours, Monday ÔÇô Friday from 8:00 am Mountain Time to 5:30 pm Mountain Time by calling 208-334-2600. Any questions regarding the technical requirements or specifications of the RFI should be directed to the RFI Coordinator.

"The Lottery industry is one with rapidly changing and improving technology," added Anderson. "We believe it is our responsibility to do our due diligence and examine the possibilities this opportunity presents."

Issuance of the RFI is done solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal or a promise to issue an RFP in the future.
