BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to $400 million for this Friday night's draw. The Powerball jackpot for tonight's draw is $122 million. And the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle is now over 50% sold. With all three big jackpots in play this week, the Idaho Lottery is sending a reminder to all players to please play responsibly.
"As the holidays are quickly approaching, the gift-giving season is in full swing. We're seeing a lot of increased activity from players who are buying tickets for themselves and to give as gifts," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "These three big jackpots are creating a lot of excitement in the marketplace and we want to urge everyone to please play with they can afford not go overboard."
At $400 million, this is the second largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. Sales in Idaho for Mega Millions have increased two fold in the past week. Powerball sales remain consistently brisk. And the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle is now over 50% sold. This game traditionally sees an upturn in sales during the holiday season and sells out before the end of the year.
"With an increase in foot traffic in retail locations, we are also asking players to be patient with the store clerks as they purchased their Mega Millions tickets," added Anderson. "Players interested in purchasing Mega Millions tickets should get their tickets earlier rather than waiting until the last minute."
Mega Millions tickets are $1 each. Players have until 7:55 PM Mountain Time Friday to purchase a Mega Millions ticket from one of the nearly 1,200 retail locations that sell Idaho Lottery products in the Gem State.
