Jackpot Fever Sweeps Idaho with a Combined $437 Million Up for Grabs;

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô As the Lottery's version of March Madness continues with the largest combination of jackpots ever offered in Idaho, the Idaho Lottery wants to remind players that when they do play this weekend, to do so responsibly.

"With over $400 million in combined big jackpot prizes this weekend, we want to remind everyone who plays to play within their means, to play what they can afford and not go overboard," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "Each ticket has an equal chance of winning and it does only take one ticket to win."

The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night is an estimated $312 million. Based on brisk nationwide sales, this jackpot amount was raised from $304 million yesterday.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday night is an estimated $125 million.

The combination of the two at $437 million is the largest amount ever available for players in Idaho. Mega Millions and Powerball tickets are just $1 each.

Idaho continues to be a lucky place to win playing both Powerball and Mega Millions.

In the past 12 months, Idaho has had four $250,000 Mega Millions winners, one $1,000,000 winner, and one player win half of a $380 million jackpot, the second largest jackpot in United States history. Powerball winners in Idaho have been equally lucky with three players claiming $200,000 and three more tickets winning $1,000,000 with the PowerPlay option which is an additional $1 per play.

At $312 million, the Mega Millions jackpot is the eight largest ever offered for that game. The last time Mega Millions reached the $300 million mark was in early January of this year. That jackpot was split equally between Idaho's and Washington State's winners.

If there is no winner tonight in Mega Millions, the next estimated jackpot amount for that game would become a new United States record at $418 million for Tuesday night.

"Good luck Idaho, and please, play responsibly," added Anderson.
