BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Anyone who believes that lottery luck cannot strike twice to the exact same person at the exact same store has not met Cindy Ragains from Twin Falls County, Idaho. For that matter, even Ragains can't believe it happened again. And it happened in the same manner, too.
"Just like last time, I got the ticket and went out to play it in my truck," said Ragains in disbelief when she claimed her second quarter-of-a-million dollar check last week. "It's just crazy to think that the exact same store sold me another $250,000 winner."
Three days before Christmas, Ragains bought, played, and won $250,000 on the Idaho Lottery's Scratch GameTM Mega Fortune. She bought the ticket from the exact same Oasis Stop 'n Go, at 2220 Addison Avenue East in Twin Falls, that she won $250,000 playing a different Scratch Game, Idaho Millions, last February.
"It's great that one of our regular customers won. That it was the same person winning from the same store she won in before is astounding," said Troy Willie, CEO with Oasis Stop 'n Go. "Oasis stores are lucky. We've sold over $1 million worth of winning tickets in the past two years."
Ragains, a regular Idaho Lottery Scratch Game player, has also won $5,000 three times in the past four months. Although none of those wins were sold at an Oasis location, two were on Mega Fortune and the other was on $100,000 Big Winner. Ragains says she plans to pay off what needs paying off and then invest most of her winnings this time. For their part in selling the winning ticket, Oasis Stop 'n Go will receive a bonus of $20,000.
By claiming the second and last top prize for Mega Fortune, that game has now officially ended. The Scratch Game taking Mega Fortune's place is $250,000 Riches.
