BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô As the kick-off to the holiday season approaches this week, brisk Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle sales and a $205 million Mega Millions jackpot for tonight have Idaho retailers preparing for an increase in player traffic and the Idaho Lottery reminds everyone to play responsibly.
"Big Mega Millions jackpots make it more fun to imagine winning the big jackpot, whether you're playing alone or in a group," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "Just remember, play what you can afford, not go overboard. It does only take one ticket to win."
This is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since the game's world record run in March 2012. When jackpots reach this high, Anderson added that players do not necessarily buy more opportunities to win, but rather more players ÔÇô often in groups ÔÇô jump into the game for their chance at the jackpot.
"While this is business as usual, we do expect our retail locations to see an increase in foot traffic over the next few days as sales have already been brisk for both our holiday Raffle game and Mega Millions," said Anderson.
The estimated jackpot for tonight is currently $205 million. Mega Millions tickets are $1 each. Players have until 7:55 PM Mountain Time this evening to purchase a Mega Millions ticket for their chance at the $205 million jackpot from one of the nearly 1,200 retail locations that sell Idaho Lottery products in the Gem State.
In addition, players hoping to enter the $100 daily draw for the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle have until 11:59 p.m. MT tonight to submit their voucher numbers.
