BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô For the second time in less than a week, the northern Idaho panhandle area has sold a "Match 5" winning draw ticket on one of its big draw games. The Idaho Lottery has confirmed a $200,000 Powerball winning ticket was sold in Sandpoint. The winning numbers for Wednesday night's Powerball draw were 11, 34, 41, 49, 55 and the Powerball number was 20.
"This is a great run of luck for northern Idaho. We are encouraging all of our players to check all of their draw tickets very carefully right now," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "Too often, we see players think they didn't win because they did not match the Powerball. In this case, the winning Powerball ticket matched every number but the Powerball and the winner now has a ticket worth $200,000."
Last Saturday, the Idaho Lottery announced that a "Match 5" Mega Millions ticket was sold in Coeur d'Alene for last Friday night's draw. The $250,000 winner on that ticket remains a mystery as the ticket has yet to be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Boise.
This past week, the Idaho Lottery has been one of the luckiest lottery jurisdictions in the country, recording three $200,000 Powerball winners and one $250,000 Mega Millions winner. In addition, Idaho also has a $1,000,000 winning Powerball PowerPlay ticket from early March that remains unclaimed.
"Northern Idaho has been particularly lucky this year with big winning tickets," added Anderson. "In addition to these two recent big wins, a St. Maries woman won $200,000 on Powerball right before Christmas and a man from Wallace won $250,000 on Idaho Millions, one of our scratch games."
Last night, there were a total of 14,855 total winners on Powerball in Idaho. The jackpot was won in Marshall, Missouri and the next Powerball jackpot is $20 million. Friday night's Mega Millions with Megaplier jackpot is an estimated $166 million.
