BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô It was the surprise of a lifetime for Sara Perez of Shoshone, Idaho on Sunday when she checked her Powerball ticket from the June 3, 2015 drawing. A long time player, Perez checked her one-line quick pick ticket at an Idaho Lottery retail store and discovered she had matched the first five numbers and her ticket was worth $1,000,000.
"The machine started making noises, 'Beep! Beep! Beep!' I thought I had broken it!" exclaimed Perez when she claimed her winning ticket in Boise. "I am still in shock."
Perez is the first player from Shoshone, or Lincoln County, Idaho to claim a prize of at least $1,000,000. She purchased her winning ticket from The Main Stop in Shoshone. She plans to pay down her bills with her winnings.
For their part in selling the winning ticket, The Main Stop in Shoshone receives a bonus from the Idaho Lottery for $20,000.
The jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball draw is an estimated $70,000,000.
