Wish Delivered: Chrome Book Chargers and Paper

Teacher Colleen Bevacqua says "Due to budget cuts, our classroom lacks enough working Chromebook chargers, limiting student access to technology. To keep students engaged, we are doing more hands-on projects, but supplies like construction paper are often purchased with my own money. Funding from the Idaho Lottery would help provide chargers and classroom materials so students have the resources they need to learn, create, and succeed. "

School: Riverbend Elementary

Wish Delivered: Phonics board and supplies

Teacher Tiffanie McNeel says "Strong phonics instruction is the foundation for helping first graders become confident readers and writers. In our classroom, students need daily opportunities to practice hearing sounds, building words, and applying phonics skills in meaningful ways. The addition of Hand2Mind Phonics Boards, Post-it anchor charts, colorful reading phones, and the Word Pop fidget game will provide engaging, hands-on tools that make our phonics lessons more interactive and effective. "

Wish Amount: $400

School: Leadore School

Wish Delivered: Classroom supplies

Teacher Jennifer Piippo says "Preschool and Kindergarten are all about FUN- really it's about learning but as a teacher I strongly believe that my students learn best through play and exploration. As you can imagine it takes a lot to provide 8 hours of engaging, hands-on experiences that build phonics, phonemic awareness, and early literacy skills. My wish list expands our opportunities for manipulating letters, sounds while also developing fine motor skills, visual discrimination, hand-eye coordination, and executive functioning—all of which support successful reading and writing. Providing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning opportunities empowers children to build confidence and reading readiness."
